1. Overview
This Shipping Policy explains how Butterflies & Feathers processes, dispatches, and delivers fashion pieces and original artworks. It should be read together with our Terms & Conditions and Refund Policy.
2. Order Processing Times
Orders are usually processed within 3 to 5 business days before dispatch. Some pieces, especially limited artworks, studio-finished garments, or small-run fashion pieces, may require a longer preparation period. Where a product needs extra preparation time, we aim to make that clear on the product page or during order review.
Processing time is separate from shipping time. Weekends, public holidays, peak-demand periods, and special launches may extend preparation windows. During sale periods or private-release moments, processing may take up to 10 to 15 business days before dispatch.
3. Fashion, Art, and One-of-One Pieces
Butterflies & Feathers sells both fashion and original artworks. Some pieces are ready to dispatch, while others may require studio finishing, packaging review, framing protection, or location-specific coordination between Germany and Ghana before shipment. Original artworks and one-of-one pieces are handled with additional care and may require tailored packaging before they leave our client desk.
4. Shipping Partners
We may ship orders using DHL and, where appropriate, other trusted carriers such as UPS, FedEx, or local fulfilment partners. The final carrier choice depends on destination, size, value, and the safest route for the item ordered.
5. Germany and Domestic Delivery
Orders shipping within Germany are typically dispatched through our Germany client desk. Delivery timing depends on the product, destination, and carrier, but available pieces often arrive within a few business days after dispatch. Tracking is added once the shipment has been handed to the carrier.
6. Ghana and Regional Delivery
Orders coordinated through Ghana are routed through our Ghana client desk. Delivery timing may vary depending on the destination city, local routing, and the nature of the piece ordered. Some items may be prepared in Ghana before dispatch, while others may move through Germany first depending on stock location and the most suitable fulfilment route.
7. International Shipping
We offer selected international shipping. International transit times vary by destination country, customs processing, and the handling requirements of the item. While we work to package and route orders carefully, cross-border delivery timing is always an estimate, not a guarantee.
8. Duties, Taxes, and Customs
Unless explicitly stated otherwise at checkout, international customers are responsible for customs duties, import VAT, brokerage fees, and any local taxes or handling charges that apply when the shipment reaches the destination country.
9. Delivery Addresses
Please make sure your delivery address, city, postal code, and contact email are accurate before submitting checkout. Butterflies & Feathers cannot be responsible for delays, failed delivery attempts, or additional charges caused by incomplete or inaccurate delivery information.
10. Tracking
Once a shipment has been dispatched and tracking has been assigned, we add the tracking number to your order. Where available, you will be able to follow the shipment through the DHL tracking link shown in your account area, success page, or delivery update email. After dispatch, the carrier will usually have the most current movement updates.
11. Split Shipments and Special Handling
Where an order contains multiple item types, for example a fashion piece and an original artwork, we may ship them separately if that is the safest or fastest way to complete delivery. If we split an order, tracking may be issued in stages.
12. Delays Outside Our Control
Weather conditions, customs reviews, carrier disruptions, remote-destination routing, public holidays, industrial action, and other events outside our control may affect delivery timing. We are not responsible for carrier-side delays once the parcel has entered the delivery network, but we will support reasonable follow-up where needed.
13. Lost or Delayed Shipments
If you believe your parcel is delayed or missing, contact us at INFO@BUTTERFLIESANDFEATHERS.COM with your order reference. We will review the delivery record and, where appropriate, open a follow-up request or claim with the carrier on your behalf.
