The business operates as a German-Ghanaian creative company that works with Ghana-based artists, African designers, and cross-cultural collaborators to present high-quality Afrocentric work with a refined international point of view.

Founder
Butterflies & Feathers was founded by Nicole, whose work brings together entrepreneurship, philanthropy, fashion, and art. From the beginning, the business was designed not only as a retail platform, but as a vehicle for positive change. Alongside the company, Nicole also established the Butterflies & Feathers Foundation to support underprivileged people in Ghana and to build projects with real social impact. Foundation and Impact
A portion of proceeds from Butterflies & Feathers supports the Butterflies & Feathers Foundation. Through that work, the wider B&F ecosystem supports underprivileged Ghanaians and collaborates on social-impact projects intended to create hope, dignity, and opportunity.
Sustainability and Craft
Sustainability and impact are part of the company's operating philosophy. Butterflies & Feathers works with production partners in Turkey, Portugal, Ghana, and Nigeria, and many pieces are made by Ghanaian and Nigerian designers and makers. The goal is to support ethical craftsmanship, cultural expression, and job creation alongside the presentation of beautiful work.
Culture, Events and Collaborations
The company has combined commerce, storytelling, and community through events, exhibitions, collaborations, and fashion presentations. This includes the 2022 B&F store opening event in Geesthacht, documentary screenings, an art auction, and fashion collaborations such as B&F x Narkus and participation in the Rising Voices Award organised by Fashion Council Germany and UGG Europe. Those milestones now live together in our Studio Stories journal.
